why hello, mister owl

I had an hour to spend doing whatever I wanted on Sunday in between things, and so I decided to go to Brookside Park in Ames. I wandered down a forest trail on this beautiful fall day and of course, brought along my camera. I took photos of trees and leaves...mostly autumny things. Suddenly, an owl flew over my head and far away into another tree. Another followed closely, but landed right above my head and just stared down at me. I was so lucky to get this shot of a Barred Owl! It definitely made my day.
